Frank Eusterholz, grand fan de Volkswagen, vit à Samso et s’est lancé dans un voyage inhabituel. Au volant d’un e-Crafter, il a en effet gagné la pointe septentrionale de l’Europe au départ de Hanovre. En choisissant un fougon électrifié conçu pour le trafic urbain et les courtes distances, il a ainsi prouvé qu’une autonomie limitée ne doit pas être un critère d’exclusion pour parcourir de longues distances. Electric Volkswagen camper van road trips 7,500 km to top of Europe
All-electric camper vans are still quite rare. Those that are available tend to be designed for camping and commuting locally, not road-tripping indefinitely. But VW fanatic Frank Eusterholz had different ideas. He threw a PlugVan camper module into the e-Crafter cargo van and hit the road ... the long road. Eusterholz's 7,500-km (4,660-mile) journey sent him highway-cruising, switchback-climbing and island-hopping across Europe, from VW van HQ Hannover, Germany to the northernmost tip of Continental Europe. All-electric VW campervan takes on 7,500 km road trip
Electric road trips that demonstrate the capability of electric vehicles are becoming more and more common, but those taken in electric campervans are somewhat rarer. A recent trip shared by the commercial vehicle arm of German car maker Volkswagen is one such electric road trip. The account details a trip taken by Volkswagen fan Frank Eusterholz, who decided to convert an all-electric eCrafter van into a camper by using a “plug and play” camper module from German PlugVan.
